As an author, I love my words, but I also love beautiful graphics. When friends need party invitations, email signatures, or a sidebar button, I jump at the chance to stretch my designer’s eye. Recently, I worked on a postcard for a friend. The black and white image reminded me that I love working on things like this, because they are a creative break from writing.

A few weeks ago, I created email signatures for two friends. Now every time I get an email from them I get excited about doing more graphic work. If you are interested in working with me, you can check out more of my work on my GRAPHICS page.

TIP TIME:

I know that everyone can’t afford to pay to have someone design graphics for their website. So, I’d love to give you a tip you can use for personalized banners. In a lot of cases, I like to use photos or images, and edit them on an app on my phone. Then I email the graphic to myself, and download them onto my computer. Here’s an example from a giveaway I did last November…

Once the image is uploaded, you can edit its size or crop it within the post. You don’t have to use the same royalty-free images that everyone else does. Set yourself apart. This is another great way (besides blogging, tweeting, and status updating) to give the reader an introduction to who you are, so have fun with it!

Stay tuned this Spring, because as school comes to an end I’ll be putting up a Graphic Design Giveaway this April!
